How to Use AceThinker Phone Manager

This is a detailed user guide of Phone Manager for Android that shows you how to connect your Android devices to computer and then transfer and manage the photos, videos, music, files, apps, etc. on your Android devices.

One of the most recent releases from AceThinker Ltd. is the AceThinker Phone Manager 3.0 for Android. The latest version of the app comes with new functions designed to help phone owners better manage their files. Let’s take a closer look inside this great application.

Part 1. Installation

There are 3 different way to get a hold of this app:

1. Click the button to open the installer for download.

2. Use your phone to scan the QR code below.

3. If you own version 2.0 or older of the app, you can simply open it up and directly update to the latest version.

Part 2. Interface

We think you are going to love the concise look that AceThinker has delivered in the new version.

The main interface has 6 distinct tabs: PHOTOS, MUSIC, VIDEOS, APPS, FILES, and STORAGE. Clicking on a tab reveals the items within. On the upper right corner you will see the scan button, which you can click to scan the QR code on the desktop app in order to connect devices. A link icon is on the bottom right of the interface, and pressing it will present you with 2 options: PC and Globe. The PC option represents the Phone Manager desktop program, and offer 3 ways to connect Android to PC. The Globe option allows you to connect your phone and computer via the internet.

Clicking the menu icon or sliding to the right reveals another interface. This features Space analyser, Hot Apps, Feedback, Help, About, and Settings. Hitting “Exit” takes you out of the program completely.

Part 3. Connection

As previously mentioned, there are 2 connection methods available in the app, which each one delivering 3 ways to connect.

PC icon:

This method requires you to run the software on your PC first before connecting your phone in one of the following 3 ways:

Way 1: Connect your Android device to your PC using a USB cable. If you get a prompt to “turn on USB debugging,” just click OK. If the prompt does not pop up, go to the app Settings and select USB Debugging > Debugging to start the process.

Way 2: A QR code appears on the desktop interface. Click scan on the phone app to begin the process. You get the same results by tapping the scan button on the phone interface.

Way 3: There is an input box located directly below the QR code. When you push the PC icon on your phone, you will be presented with a verification code, which you then need to enter in the input field.

Globe icon:

If you are away from your PC, you can use the Globe option on your phone, which will direct you to a website. The next step is to press “Scan” to capture the QR code, or you can type in the code that will be showing on your phone. You also have the option of entering the IP into the browser to connect your phone to your computer.

1. The PC and phone must be on the same Wi-Fi connection.
2. Tapping the link button will disconnect the devices.

Part 4. Functions

PHOTOS: Photos are displayed in folders that can be opened to see each individual pic. Clicking “Select” allow you to delete images as needed.

MUSIC: The app will allow you to listen to your favourite songs. If a song is playing that you don’t care for, simply click “Select” and delete it.

VIDEOS: Clicking on a video will start the playback, and double tapping will exit out. Items can also be easily deleted.

APPS: Uninstall any apps that you no longer want on your phone.

FILES: Documents are separated by type, and each can be opened to check the individual files.

STORAGE: Much like a file explorer, you can get a closer look at everything stored on your Android device. A great way to manager both internal storage and your SD card.

Space analyser: This feature allows you to see how much storage is being used and what is available. It also lets you know which types of files use up the most storage.

Screenshot: We need to make it clear that this function does not appear on the app. Since you can wirelessly connect to the app, the screenshot option is not necessary. It is possible to save screenshots to your phone and local drive, but you must be running Android 5.0 or higher.: A list of great apps we recommend.
