The iOS platform was originally used as a mobile operating system, although as Apple’s device development continued forward, the operating system has become the standard for all of their devices. When it comes to recording the screen of an iOS device, this means that all iOS devices share similar methods in which their screen can be recorded, the only question is how can it be done? So let’s take a look at some of the different methods out there.
iPhone Screen Recorder (Software)
While other iOS Screen recorders out there make jailbreaking your device necessary, with iPhone Screen Recorder (don’t let the name fool you, it can be used on all iOS devices!) jailbreaking your device isn’t necessary. This program takes advantage of the iOS AirPlay function in order to display your devices display on your computer, and record the display from there.
The program offers a variety of functions and a spread of flexibility. You are able to record your recordings in a variety of video formats, record in the highest of quality, as well as being able to record your system sounds and your microphone to go along with your screen recordings too.
iRec (iOS Mobile App)
The iRec application is one of the best options out there when it comes to screen recording applications. It is currently only available on the Emu4iOS store (which you can access by clicking here) and allows for you to record your iOS screen without running into any issues at all. The best part of this application has to be due to the wide range of features that it includes, yet you aren’t required to jailbreak your device. So, let’s take a look at how you can take advantage of this program and record your iOS screen
Step #1 – Start off by heading to the Emu4iOS store and downloading the iRec application.
Step #2 – Once it has installed, take a few moments to look around the recording settings and change them to your preference.
Note: by altering your settings, you are able to change things such as the bitrate of your recording as well as the framerate at which the video is recorded as. Changing your settings appropriate may cause in increase in your recording quality, however this will make the recording a larger file.
Step #3 – When you are ready, go ahead and click the “Start Recording” button and once you have finished, click on the “Stop Recording” button. It’s that simple.
