How to Delete Windows Update Files on PC

“Recently, my computer is running very slow, I deleted most files that eat up memory on my computer but it still, nothing has changed. My friend told me to remove outdated download updates, but how to delete Windows update?”

Solution 1: For Windows 7 Operating System

Click “Start” > “All Programs” > “Accessories” > “System Tools” and look for “Disk Clean up”. This is the long path to find Disk Cleanup. You can take the short path by going to the start up and search directly on the “Search Bar”, then type “Disk Cleanup” as shown in the photo below.

Solution 2: For Windows 8 Operating System

If you are using the latest software which is Windows 10, run the search bar, type Disk Clean up. Choose the drive that you want to clean and tick the “Okay” button to remove windows 10 update files.

Tips to Remember When Clearing Windows Updates

  • Make sure that your logged-in as Administrator to make necessary changes on your PC or else you will get an error message says “You do not have the permission to access this file”.
  • Most cases , the computer restarts after the clean-up is done.
